What is a Bearbrick?
Bearbrick is a brand of collectible designer figures designed and produced by the Japanese company MediCom Toy Incorporated. They are comprised of nine parts — a head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs with joints that can move, which come in a range of materials, although most frequently plastic. The adorable figurine has become an icon in both fashion and art since it has stepped onto the scene in 2001.
Who created Bearbrick?
Bearbrick was created by Tatsuhiko Akashi, who founded the Japanese company, Medicom Toy, in 1996.

Andy Warhol x Marilyn Monroe
Features an all-over pattern of the Marilyn Monroe acrylic on canvas "Twenty-Five Colored Marilyns" painting created by Andy Warhol. Released in 2020.
Beckoning Cat Peko-Chan
Features a gold plated ursine figure. The ursine figure is of Peko Chan the official mascot of Fujiya Company’s Milky candy, dressed up as a golden Maneki-neko lucky cat. Released in 2018.
BAPE x STAR WARS BOBA FETT
Pays tribute to the most feared bounty hunter from a galaxy far, far away. Released in 2020.
Breaking Bad Walter White
Features the chemist Walter White wearing his chemical protective gear. Modeled after the famous character from one of the most popular television shows of all time. Released in 2020.
Garfield
Celebrate over 50 years with the cat that hates Monday and loves lasagna. Garfield was originally introduced by artist Jim Davis in 1976 and quickly became one of the most popular comic characters of the time. Released in 2018.
Gizmo
Inspired by Gizmo, the main protagonist in the 1984 and 1990 Gremlins movies. Released in 2021.
Karimoku Fragment Wooden Polygon Horizon
Karimoku is a revered Japanese wood furniture company that’s been around for 80 years. This figure was completely constructed of walnut wood, handcrafted in Japan. Released in 2018.
Kaws Chomper
The exclusive Bearbrick figure combines iconic Kaws trademarks such as the “X” eyes and “Chomper” teeth with the blue color in tribute to the summertime Japanese music festival Avex Summer Festa. Released in 2003.
KAWS Dissected
Companion is one of a set of stock characters created by Kaws that appear repeatedly throughout his artworks. Half of his body appears normal, yet the other half shows the organs, muscles, and skeleton that lie beneath the cartoon’s skin. Released in 2010.
Michael Jackson Red Jacket
This figure pays tribute to the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson! Fearures Michael Jackson as seen in the classic horror-inspired video for his legendary song “Thriller” with his red pants and his red and black leather jacket. Released in 2019.
Michael Jordan 1985 Rookie Jersey
The figure features a completely gold Bearbrick wearing the Chicago Bulls' home uniform from the 1985 season, paying homage to Michael Jordan's rookie year with the Chicago Bulls. Released in 2022.
Readymade x A Bathing Ape
Features READYMADE’s familiar army green informing the left side of the figure, while BAPE’s trademark camouflage appears on the other side. Each label’s branding appears on the respective sides, while a recreation of BAPE’s iconic Shark Hoodie is printed on the front and rear. Released in 2018.
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
Figure depicts the iconic giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the 1984 cult classic movie Ghostbusters. Released in 2018.
